This has been a down week for my NPCC internship but I am excited about the work in progress for it. Yesterday I got to talk with Shannon, the logistics/event planner for the Governor’s K-20 education summit that’s happening in Bend in August. I was at PSU with Mari and Laurel when Shannon was hired and happily offered to help with the summit if there was a need. I felt really positive that I had made a good (competent) impression on Mari and Laurel with the UWEC workshop and was happy when they agreed to pass my name along to Shannon. I’m still largely in the dark about what the summit will look like or the role I’ll play but it was good to talk with Shannon yesterday and at least start to get a picture of it. I am really looking forward to participating in the process AND to meeting the players that will be there.
